IST ALERT - PARA AJUDAR NO PREENCHIMENTO DA PLANILHA EXCEL

IST Skills/Qualifications

We wish to know what professional or volunteer experience an IST has. We need this information divided under different headings. These headings have been chosen as areas where skills or qualifications are of specific relevance to delivering the World Scout Jamboree. If you have a formal certificate or training, you can enter it under the appropriate heading. Some examples are given but please note that there could be other skills or qualifications that you have that are relevant. Please consider which skills you would like to share with the us, and place this information under the closest heading.

Administrative skills

Including cashier, banker, secretary for the board of the scout unit etc.

Technical skills

Including plumber, electrician or other technical professions that require qualifications or training.

Educational skills

Including youth work, both running activities and general leadership. It also covers the educational sector with teaching etc.

Medical skills

Qualified nurses, doctors, psychologists etc. Also covers if you are a trained in CPR or First Aid.

Communication skills

Including everything from translation and layout to journalism and press handling. Also if you hold a radio license.

Food handling skills

Including experience in running restaurants, dieticians, catering for scout camps, cooks etc.

Professional IT skills

If you professionally work with programming etc.

Woodcraft skills

Including handyman or carpenter, and Scout pioneering or other construction projects.

IST Task Preferences

This is where an IST can indicate their preference for the sort of task they would like to do at the World Scout Jamboree. You cannot specify a particular team or task with which you want to work, but you can indicate the type of work you would like to do. The Adult Resources team will consider these preferences when allocating people to their IST Patrols.

There are many tasks across the Jamboree that have a similar focus, although they are officially run by different teams. For example; someone with an interest in Information and Communication could be assigned to a Patrol working in the Press and Media, in a Main Square information tent, or in the Subcamp Information team. Someone with an interest in Entertainment could be assigned a Patrol working in Adult Town entertainment, in a café with a stage programme, or in the main arena events.

This system is designed to help us find people for all the different tasks across the Jamboree, and to help our IST understand that we need assistance all over the campsite. We will do our very best to make sure that each IST is assigned a role that matches their interests, although it may not be a role they had envisaged for themselves!

Sempre Alerta!
